Social Workers are a critical part of Team Manchester VA - Social Workers are a critical part of Team Manchester VA. Social workers assist Veterans, family members and caregivers in resolving issues related to housing, finance, mental health, relationships and physical limitations. They provide care coordination and education and lead quality improvement efforts to identify and advocate for needed resources and services. Social workers also offer help related to advance care planning – naming someone to make healthcare decisions if the patient is unable to do so. (04/29/2020)

VA Manchester Community Based Outpatient Clinics Transition all Patient Care to Virtual Care - VA Manchester Health Care System announces virtual care only access at its Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) located in Conway, Portsmouth, Somersworth and Tilton, effective close of business, Monday, March 30, 2020, due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Protect Yourself From COVID-19: Access VA Care from Home - Veterans can receive care at home — either over the phone or via video using VA Video Connect on their computers, smartphones, or tablets. To set up telephone or video appointments, Veterans can send their provider a secure message on My HealtheVet by visiting myhealth.va.gov. Veterans may also call, but VA is requesting that Veterans only call with urgent needs at this time. To learn more about VA Video Connect, visit mobile.va.gov/app/va-video-connect. (03/26/2020)

Manchester Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center has taken steps to intensify its COVID-19 response - Beginning March 23th, all Veterans arriving on campus will be screened in their vehicles. Veterans should use the Main Eagle Entrance to access our single-source drive thru screening entrance. Signage and staff will support parking and access, once Veterans are screened and deemed asymptomatic, will be made through the Mountain Entrance. Visitors at the Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Conway, Portsmouth and Tilton are screened at the entrance. Testing for COVID-19 does not take place at any of these locations. Anyone who is ill should call the medical center before coming in at 800-892-8384 x 3199. (03/22/2020)

VA announces safeguards to protect nursing home and spinal cord injury patients - While the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) still considers COVID-19 to be a low threat to the general American public, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced, March 10, new safeguards aimed at limiting COVID-19 exposure risk for two of its most susceptible patient populations: nursing home residents and spinal-cord injury patients. International Volunteer Day - On this Giving Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) encourages community members, businesses and organizations to help support hospitalized Veterans throughout the country by doing what they can. Manchester VA Increases Veterans Urgent and Walk-In Care Locations Eightfold - Manchester VAMC has expanded its MISSION Act community urgent and walk-in care locations and now has providers in the following areas: Alton; Belmont; Colebrook; Concord; Epping; Hampton; Hooksett; Lebanon; Londonderry; Manchester; Milford; Nashua; Portsmouth and Salem. Only two weeks ago, there were ten locations in New Hampshire, and today, there are over eighty urgent and walk-in care centers within a 50-mile radius of Manchester VAMC. (07/30/2019)
